"The best color in the whole world is the one that looks good on you."  ~ Coco Chanel

There is no such thing as a good color.
There are only GOOD COLOR RELATIONSHIPS.

COLOR is the first and MOST prominent feature
in the visual image that we present -- even before fit or style.

Just like the perfect blend of colors at a roulette table in a bustling casino sofort, skillful color relationships can elevate the impact and appeal of any visual presentation.

"Harmonizing your lip color, hair color and the clothes you wear to your skin tone, has a breathtaking effect."

~ Maytee Garza

ANY TWO COLORS NEXT TO EACH OTHER, ALTER EACH OTHER. Colors generate afterimages. The RIGHT COLORS are flattering, the WRONG COLOR also effect a change, but for the WORSE. Wearing COLORS consistent with the characteristics of our skin tone (i.e. COOL colors with COOL skin tone – NEUTRAL with NEUTRAL, and WARM with WARM) creates PERSONAL COLOR HARMONY. Wear a COLOR that is too WARM (more yellow content) and you might look sallow. Wear one that is too COOL (more blue content) and you look washed out and tired.

NEUTRAL skin tones, can't stray as far as those who are WARM or COOL, because they fall in the center of the spectrum. That being said, when selecting makeup, hair color or clothes, NEUTRALS should stay away from hues that have too much yellow, making them too WARM, or too much blue, which would make them too COOL. NEUTRAL COLORS are neither predominantly WARM or COOL. Imagine mixing a drop of COOL red paint, with a drop of WARM red paint. What you would end up with would be a very flattering NEUTRAL shade of red that is just perfect for you.

COOL skin tones look beautiful in blues, purples and pinks.  But, you can actually wear a COOL version of every hue on the color wheel. Any color can be made cooler with the addition of a little blue, as long as it has little or no yellow content. Therefore a green that is cooled with a little extra blue, makes it very flattering to COOLS. The same goes for red. A hint of blue takes it closer to wine or fuchsia which is lovely on a COOL skin tone. COOLS can actually even wear yellow beautifully, but it must have a tad bit of blue content giving it a very slight hint of green.

WARM skin tones look rich and beautiful in olive or gold, but you are absolutely not limited to the WARM side of the color wheel. Yellow and orange are indeed your friend, but there are also beautiful WARM versions of all of the hues. A WARM pink is on the coral side, a WARM blue is on the teal side, and a WARM purple is more of a violet.  You look great in browns and reds, but the presence of yellow warms the red moving it towards orange. You always look your absolute best on the warmer side of every hue.

What is your best RED, BLUE, GREEN or YELLOW?

How Do You Know That You Are Getting It Right?
Personal Color Analysis Takes The Guesswork Out Of The Equation

The FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT consideration when selecting colors that flatter (clothing, hair color, makeup, etc.), is that they be consistent with our SKIN TONE relative to where it falls on the spectrum of COOL to NEUTRAL to WARM.  In other words COOL skin tones look best wearing COOL colors, NEUTRAL skin tones with NEUTRAL colors, and WARM skin tones with WARM Colors. But which one are you?
